You already do it.
A regular sits down in your chair. Halfway through the cut, they ask if you know a good mechanic. You tell them about the shop you have used for years. They go. The mechanic gets a new customer. Your client gets their car fixed right. You get a thank you the next time they come in.
That is word of mouth. It is the oldest and strongest kind of marketing there is. And barbers give it away for free every single day.
RECOMMENDii lets you get paid for it, and nothing about how you work has to change.
Think about one week in your shop. Someone needs a contractor to build a deck. Someone is buying a house and wants a realtor. Someone asks about a lawyer, an accountant, or a good place for date night. Someone wants to know which gym is worth it.
You answer. Honestly. From what you know. Because you know your town, and your clients trust you.
Most of your clients come back every two or three weeks. Some have sat in your chair for years. That is a lot of time and a lot of trust. When you say a business is good, people listen.
Every one of those answers is a recommendation. And every recommendation has real value to the business you sent that client to.
RECOMMENDii started with a barber. Every day, his clients asked him who to call. Every day, he sent them to businesses he trusted. He was already doing the work. He just was not getting paid for it.
RECOMMENDii was built to give that trust a permanent, public home. And to make sure the person doing the recommending gets rewarded for it.
You make a free RECOMMENDer profile. It takes a few minutes. Add a photo, a short line about who you are, and where your shop is.
Then pick the businesses you already send people to. The mechanic. The contractor. The accountant your regulars keep asking about. Send each one a Recommendationship request.
Both sides have to say yes. Either of you can send the Recommendationship request. When the business accepts and activates, two things happen.
First, the business shows up on your public profile with your name next to it. Anyone can see who you recommend and go straight to that business.
Second, you start earning. The business pays $300 every 180 days (about $50 a month). You’re paid your share after the end of every month for each day the Recommendationship was active.
Your share grows as your list grows. It is based on how many active Recommendationships you have:
1 to 24: you keep 50% of each payment.
25 to 49: you keep 60%.
50 or more: you keep 70%.
When you reach a new tier, the higher rate applies to all your active Recommendationships, not just the new ones.
Here is an example. Say you recommend 10 businesses. Each one pays $300 every 180 days. At 50%, you get $25 from each business. That adds up to about $250 a month, paid to you after the end of each month, for recommendations you were already giving away.
RECOMMENDii gives you a QR card you can print and put at your station or by the waiting bench. It links straight to your RECOMMENDer profile.
A walk-in sits down to wait for his turn. He picks up his phone and scans the card. He sees every business you recommend, with your name and photo next to each one. He can tap through to any of them.
You did not have to say a word. The wait time did the work for you.
There is nothing to stock and nothing to pitch. Your income comes from one thing: your clients trust you.
RECOMMENDii pays you a percentage of what the business pays, not a commission per click or per sale. The business pays a flat fee to be on your list. You earn your share whether one client goes there or fifty.
So your only job is to keep recommending good places. Which you already do.
Your name and photo sit next to every business you recommend. If you send a client somewhere bad, you will hear about it in your chair two weeks later.
So only list businesses you would send your own family to. That is what makes your recommendations worth something. One barber who stands behind their list is worth more than a hundred reviews from strangers.
Your clients come back for you. They know your name, they trust your judgment, and they ask you who to call. That network is yours whether you own the shop, rent a chair, or work for someone else.
Every barber can have their own RECOMMENDer profile. Your list, your name, your earnings. If you change shops, move across town, or open your own place someday, your RECOMMENDer profile comes with you.
If you work in someone else's shop, have a quick word with the owner before putting your QR card up at your station. Most owners like seeing their barbers build something, and some will want a profile of their own.
Start with the ones your clients already ask you about. Mechanics and auto body shops. Contractors, plumbers and electricians. Realtors and mortgage brokers. Lawyers and accountants. Gyms and personal trainers. Tattoo shops. Local restaurants.
If a client has asked you about it, it belongs on your list.
